Finally a relaxing and peaceful area. The team now entered a grassy plane, seeming a bit happier now.
Most of all, the biome filled Summer with ecstasy, overrun by pure joy. Her emerald eyes dilated as she giggled, putting a hand over her mouth then noticed a flower. She tapped it with her finger and it bloomed.
Ken quickly interrupted; "Hey, I dunno about you guys, but I'm starving!" He clutched his gut and felt it growl a bit.
The nature girl quickly snapped out of her dreams and looked back at him. "Ah, yes. I think it is about time we eat." She then added; "In fact, I think it might be nice if we have a picnic here. Very ideal conditions."
"That sounds great!" Ken exclaimed in an elated manner.
Archer simply shrugged and looked around while Summer pulled out one of her spare blankets and placed it on the ground.
Soon enough, the three were sitting on it and eating packed sandwiches. Ken finished his in two bites and covered his hands and mouth in sauce.
Archer looked back at him, somewhat disgusted. "Geez knucklehead you're quite the eater, whatever happened to savoring its taste?" She lended him some of her napkins. "You need 'em more than I do. Gotta look good when y'all are facing Inferno."
Ken swallowed, cleaned himself, then pondered a bit. "Say, why exactly are these Inferno guys after our asses? And why us?"
Summer sighed after a bite, then looked up at him. "Tranquil Town is said to have heaps upon heaps of gold under it. Inferno is a terrorist group that wants to get their stingy hands on it and use it to their advantage. Though the government refused, claiming it will bring greed and poverty among the town, they still must be up to no good and are planning to take it anyways. As for our powers, all we really know is that our genetic inheritance relates to our first ruler who had all three of our powers. We are three thirds of a whole, and we may only achieve ultimate power working together." Summer finished, then stood up. "I'll be taking a stroll, let me know if you need anything." And with that, she left.
Later that evening, Ken walked up a hill to find Summer sitting there; watching the scenery as the sun sets. He plopped down next to her and looked at her.
"Do you think I'll ever get back with Patricia?" Ken asked weakly. "I've just been missing her so much, but something tells me she's safe. Yet I'm still worried."
"Ken, don't say that. You will see her again and I guarantee it." Summer looked over to Ken, her eyes glistening in the orange sunlight. "You have the power to ensure peace, to end suffering, to surmount great obstacles so long as I believe in you."
The two stood up, Ken scratching the back of his head shyly. "Well, I don't have much else to say I" He was cut off as Summer gently embraced him.
"No matter what comes in your way, we are here for you. There is always a bright side to everything." She then let go. Her cheeks turned a warm red for a moment then she cleared her throat. "Well, we better get some sleep, we're training tomorrow if you feel up to it." She walked off then left Ken all alone. He looked off to where the sun once was, then looked away and headed back to his tent.
Now the team is in a more peaceful area, time to spill the beans.
